<p>The aim of the course is to provide the student with a background in fundamental statistical methods with a particular focus on geographical data. The course deals with statistical distributions, populations, statistical analysis as well as uncertainty analysis of geographical data.</p><p>In this course you will learn to use and explain statistical measures, independently perform analyzes and interpret results, understand and apply methods to applicable data and perform a geostatistical analysis.</p> <p>Course content</p> <p>The course consists of different parts:</p> <p>Â Â Â Descriptive statistics</p> <p>Â Â Â Data sets and populations</p> <p>Â Â Â Correlation analysis</p> <p>Â Â Â Simple linear regression</p> <p>Â Â Â Multiple regression analysis and trend areas</p> <p>Â Â Â Spatial regression</p> <p>Â Â Â Spatial distributions and clusters</p> <p>Â Â Â Hypothesis testing</p> <p>Â Â Â Regional variable theory</p> <p>The course is distributed online and is given via the Internet to students in the master's program in Geographic Information Science.</p><p>http://www.nateko.lu.se/gisn41</p>
Entry to the course requires general entry requirements, English B/6 and 90 credits scientific studies, including 30 credits in GIS. Equivalent knowledge acquired in a different way, also gives admission to the course.
