<p>How have the relationships between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam taken shape throughout history - and how do they influence the world today? This course gives you new perspectives on both conflict and cooperation between the three religions.</p><p>The course focuses on the relationships between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam and examines them from several thematic and interdisciplinary perspectives. Gradually, you will build an understanding of how the relationships between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam have emerged and developed. You will learn about the historical roots of interreligious encounters and how these relationships affect society today </p><p>The course introduces core narratives and ideas that shape discussions between the three religions. You will also have the opportunity to investigate both challenges and possibilities within interreligious contexts. You will work with issues related to both conflict and cooperation and analyse examples from different cultural, social, and political contexts. </p><p>Themes covered in the course include the formation and interpretation of scriptures, gender and sexuality, sacred land and contested space, and the construction of the religious Other. Texts, bodies, spaces, and social boundaries emerge as key sites where interreligious relations are negotiated and redefined. These dynamics are examined in connection with broader social and political questions, including migration and integration, the interaction between religious and civil law in Western societies, and the ongoing formation of individual and collective identities in changing cultural contexts.</p>
