<p>Are you interested in diving into English literature from the 19th century? This course offers you the chance to explore works from this exciting period and understand their significance in a historical context.</p><p>You will learn about the main literary genres of the 19th century and how they reflect different readerships. You will study works by several prominent authors and analyse their texts in detail.</p><p>During the course, you will read between 2,500 and 3,000 pages of English literary texts from the 19th century. We study these works both as individual texts and as parts of a larger literary tradition. You will also read scholarly material that helps you understand and analyse the literary texts.</p><p>This course is part of the Master's programme in Literature - Culture - Media, but it can also be taken as a standalone course. </p>
To be eligible for the course requires the successful completion of 90 higher education credits in English, or the equivalent.
