<p>How do picture books affect our view of the world? In this course, you will explore the picture book as an art form, a means of communication and a mirror of society - both historically and today.</p><p>The course is for you who want to understand the picture book as a medium and its role in society. You will gain knowledge about important theories about the picture book and learn about its development in the Western world and globally. The course gives you tools to analyse the interaction between image and text, and to interpret picture books from cultural, historical and media perspectives. You will also practice formulating your own questions about both older and contemporary picture books.</p>
