<p>Buildings account for a large share of global energy use, making energy-efficient design key to a sustainable future. This master's programme equips you to design energy-efficient and environmentally friendly buildings, balancing technical performance with inhabitants' comfort and needs. </p><p>This master’s programme focuses on energy-efficient and environmental building design, especially in heating-dominated climates. It equips you with the knowledge, skills and competencies to design and renovate buildings with integrated renewable energy systems, taking into account the architecture, environment and inhabitants’ needs, health and comfort. </p><p>The programme combines theoretical knowledge with practical application. You will work in small, interdisciplinary teams to develop energy-efficient buildings and analyse the impact of different design options using advanced computer-based tools and methods. Student teams are mixed in terms of both academic and cultural background, which strengthens your ability to work in diverse and complex settings. </p><p>Theoretical courses are complemented by practical modules where you will work on specific building projects. </p><p>The programme involves teachers from the Divisions of Energy and Building Design, Building Physics, and Building Services at the Department of Building and Environmental Technology.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
A Bachelor’s degree in architecture, civil engineering, architectural engineering or equivalent. Completed courses within the three subjects building technology/structural engineering, building physics/science and building services. A minimum of 3 credits/ECTS is required for each of these three subjects. In addition, a total of 30 credits/ECTS is required as sum of any combination of courses within energy and building technology/structural engineering, building physics/science, building services, building materials and architecture. English 6.
