<p>The student chooses in consultation with supervisors and examiner an independent examination assignment comprising 15 credits. The assignment can either be linked to current scientific projects at the Division of Mathematical Statistics or to problems within the subject area at companies or other departments within or outside the university. If the work is carried out outside the department, an internal supervisor should also be assigned.</p>

Entry requirements

For admission to the course, general entry requirements and knowledge equivalent to the courses: MATA31 Analysis in One Variable 15, MATA32 Algebra and Vector Geometry 1 7.5, NUMA01 Computational Programming with Python 7.5, MATB21 Analysis in Several Variables 1 7.5, MATB32 Linear algebra 7.5, MATB23 Analysis in Several Variables 2 7.5, At least one of the courses: MATB34 Linear analysis 7.5 hp, MATB35 Discrete mathematics 7.5. Additionally the courses MASA03 Mathematical statistics, basic course, 15; MASC01 Probability theory, 7.5 ; as well as 15 additional credits in Mathematical statistics are required together with English B. Alternatively general entry requirements and knowledge equivalent to the courses: MATA21 Analysis in One Variable 15 hp, MATA22 Linear Algebra 1 7.5 hp, MATA23 Foundations of Algebra 7.5 hp, NUMA01 Computational Programming with Python 7.5 hp, MATB21 Analysis in Several Variables 1 7.5 hp, MATB22 Linear algebra 2 7.5 hp, MATB23 Analysis in Several Variables 2 7.5 hp, At least one of the courses: MATB13 Discrete mathematics 7.5 hp, MATB16 Linear analysis 7.5 hp. Additionally the courses MASA02 Mathematical statistics, basic course, 15 hp; MASC01 Probability theory, 7.5 hp; as well as 15 hp additional credits in Mathematical statistics are required together with English B.
