<p>The course provides a thorough introduction to the analysis of functions of several variables.</p><p>The course treats:</p> <ul> <li>Functions of several variables, basic topology in R^n.</li> <li>Continuity, theorems about continuous functions.</li> <li>Differentiable functions, gradients and directional derivatives.</li> <li>Taylor's formula.</li> <li>Extreme values and optimization.</li> <li>Multiple integrals, improper integrals, change of variables.</li> </ul>

Entry requirements

General eligibility and 30 ECTS in mathematics corresponding to MATA21 Analysis in One Variable 15 ECTS, MATA22 Linear Algebra 1 7.5 ECTS, and one of the courses NUMA01 Computational Programming with Python 7.5 ECTS and MATA23 Foundations of Algebra, 7.5 ECTS
