<p>How does literature reflect the development of modern China? In this course, you will explore advanced modern Chinese literature and deepen your understanding of both language and culture. You will develop your ability to analyse, interpret and present information in an independent and academic way.</p><p>This course gives you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of modern Chinese literature through the study and analysis of texts from a range of genres. You will learn to understand literary texts in modern Chinese with support from teachers and resources such as dictionaries.<br/>Throughout the course, you will strengthen your ability to search for and use advanced information sources, including Chinese-language materials within your chosen area of study. You will practise understanding texts written in different styles, retelling their content in Chinese, and placing them within a broader literary and historical context.<br/></p><p>You will also develop your ability to critically analyse and interpret source material and present your findings in ways that meet academic standards. In addition, the course introduces you to scholarly discussions within your field and helps you develop an academic approach to working with Chinese-language sources.<br/></p>
