<p>Discover how we speak and hear - from brain signals to sound waves. Explore the fascinating science behind speech production and perception, and learn how our muscles, brain, and senses work together to create spoken language. </p><p>This course introduces you to the science of how speech is made and understood. You’ll learn how the muscles in your mouth and throat help produce speech sounds, how air flows and sound waves are formed, and how your brain and senses are involved in speaking and listening. You’ll also explore key theories and research in speech production and perception.<br/></p>
General entry requirements and knowledge corresponding to LINB25 Phonetics: Introduction to Phonetics (7,5 ECTS) and LINC11 Linguistics: Speech Acoustics, Perception and Prosody (7,5 ECTS)
