<p>In this course, you will learn the craft behind porcelain production and how to create your own porcelain objects from concept to finished product- from 3D design to mould-making, casting, glazing and firing.</p><p>The course gives you the opportunity to combine digital design with traditional craftsmanship. You will learn to create your own models in a 3D surface modelling program or work from existing objects.</p><p>Under the guidance of an experienced ceramicist, you will make plaster moulds and cast pieces using liquid porcelain slip (or earthenware and stoneware depending on your project). You will also have the chance to glaze or decorate your creations.</p><p>The course is ideal for those interested in design, materials and practical making and who want to understand the entire process from concept to finished product. It can be taken as a stand-alone course and is relevant for anyone wishing to develop creative and technical skills in design.</p>
