<p>In this course, you will explore the power of film to reflect, shape, and challenge cultural and historical conditions within a European and Scandinavian context. The course combines theory with practical analysis and is aimed at you who want to understand the role of film in society.</p><p>This course offers a multifaceted and in-depth understanding of the role of film and television in shaping, reflecting, and challenging cultural and historical conditions in a European and Scandinavian context. By analysing everything from historical portrayals and literary adaptations to themes such as migration, ethnicity, and cultural memory, you will gain insight into how moving images influence our view of society - and of ourselves. The course also addresses the institutional context of film, such as film festivals, criticism, and production conditions, and equips you with tools to analyse film and television using relevant theoretical perspectives.</p><p><br/></p>

General requirements and studies equivalent to Swedish Upper Secondary School courses History 1b or 1a1+1a2/History level 1b or level 1a2 and Social Studies 1b or 1a1+1a2/Social Studies level 1b or level 1a2
