<p>In this online course, you will explore how European history and culture have been portrayed on the big screen and on television - from grand historical dramas to imaginative narratives and documentaries. </p><p>How has Europe’s history and culture been depicted through film and television? This film studies course gives you the opportunity to examine how cultural and historical ideas are represented in both large-scale productions and smaller, experimental formats. You will analyse documentaries, literary adaptations, and imaginative narratives - all within the geopolitical and cultural context of Europe. </p><p>Through lectures, seminars, discussions, and film screenings, you will develop your ability to analyse and evaluate how film and television reflect and influence our understanding of European history and identity. </p><p>The course is taught in English and is entirely online. It is suitable for students pursuing a degree or those looking for a stand-alone course to deepen their understanding of film as a cultural medium.</p>
General requirements and studies equivalent to Swedish Upper Secondary School courses History 1b or 1a1+1a2/History level 1b or level 1a2 and Social Studies 1b or 1a1+1a2/Social Studies level 1b or level 1a2
