<p>Migration has long been a part of European history - and the world of film has both portrayed and been shaped by these movements. In this course, you will explore how migration is represented in film while also examining how film production itself has been influenced by transnational flows.</p><p>The course Film, Migration and Ethnicity is a stand-alone course in film studies worth 7.5 ECTS credits. It is designed for you who are interested in the role of film in society, particularly in relation to migration, cultural identity, and representation. You will learn about concepts such as exile cinema and diaspora film, and how these expressions have been shaped by historical and contemporary conditions in Europe and Scandinavia.</p><p>The teaching is conducted in English via Zoom, and the Canvas learning platform is actively used for communication and knowledge sharing. If all participants are fluent in Swedish, parts of the instruction may be conducted in Swedish.</p>

Entry requirements

General requirements and studies equivalent to Swedish Upper Secondary School courses History 1b or 1a1+1a2/History level 1b or level 1a2 and Social Studies 1b or 1a1+1a2/Social Studies level 1b or level 1a2
