<p>Do you need to know how to programme to be a good statistician? Short answer: ‘yes’. Long answer: ‘yeeeeeees’</p><p>This course teaches you the basics of programming. You’ll learn core concepts such as data types, control flow (like loops and if-statements) and how to organise code using functions and classes.</p><p>You’ll also explore programming techniques used in statistics. This includes generating random numbers for simulations and working with methods that require large-scale computation. You’ll learn what these methods demand from you as a programmer.</p><p>The course uses the statistical programming language R.</p>

Entry requirements

General entry requirements and STAA40 Statistics: Basic Course or STAA41 Statistics: Basic Course 1 or the equivalent.
