<p>How do brands shape our lives and reflect culture? In this course, you will explore brands as cultural phenomena and examine how they evolve over time. If you are curious about the cultural dimensions of branding, this course is for you. </p><p>The course examines how brands develop in relation to historical and cultural transformations, and how they function within both consumer and visual cultures. You will gain theoretical knowledge about brand culture and how brands are shaped by consumer culture and visual communication. </p><p>Through critical perspectives, you will uncover the deeper meanings embedded in brand culture and how it influences everyday life. </p>
For admission to the course, the student must have completed course requirements of at least 60 credits in a social science subject or the equivalent. Oral and written proficiency in English equivalent to English 6/B (advanced) from Swedish upper secondary school is a requirement. International qualifications will be assessed in accordance with national guidelines. International students are exempted from the general entry requirement of proficiency in Swedish.
