<p>How does migration influence religion in today’s Sweden? This course helps you understand how new religious expressions, traditions, and communities are emerging in one of the world’s allegedly most secularized countries.</p><p>The course focuses on how migration has reshaped Sweden’s religious landscape in recent decades. Sweden is now a multireligious society, which brings both opportunities and challenges. You will study how different religious groups have established themselves here and what this means for society. You will analyse how different religious communities are organized and how they contribute to a multireligious society. </p><p>The course addresses questions of power and gender to highlight the complexity of the changes taking place. It also explores how individuals and groups relate to religious diversity and the changes this brings. You will work with empirical examples from Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and Buddhist communities in Sweden.</p>
