Do you want to teach Yiddish as a mother tongue? This is a professional development course in Yiddish for those who are already mother tongue teachers or aspire to become one. You will gain both in-depth language skills and pedagogical tools to teach Yiddish in schools. The focus is on developing your ability to read, understand, speak, and write Yiddish, while also learning how to support students in their language development. The course includes more literary studies than the course Yiddish: Language and Literature, Level 1 B and integrates subject-specific didactics into the teaching. You will also receive an introduction to the official guidelines that govern Yiddish instruction in Sweden, providing a solid foundation for planning and delivering lessons. This education is ideal for those who want to combine a passion for language with pedagogical competence and contribute to preserving and developing Yiddish as a mother tongue in schools.
General eligibility and a course corresponding to YIDD12 Yiddish: Language and Literature, Level 1 B, 15 ECTS credits.
Each offering has its own dates and conditions. Closed offerings are retained as history and do not mean that a new application is open.
