Today, the global energy system is dominated by fossil-based fuels, pushing the planetary boundaries over its limits and resulting in climate change with direct impact on millions of people world-wide. During this course, biomass resources and possible energy conversion pathways will be analyzed to understand the importance of biomass for today's energy use.
