Kursen syftar till att studenten utvecklar kunskap om struktur och egenskaper hos olika konstruktionsmaterial som metaller, polymera material, keramer och kompositer. Studenten ska också tillägna sig kunskap om vanliga materialprovningsmetoder samt grundläggande kunskaper om materialval.
