### The course package consists of the following courses: **Energy and Sustainable Land Use, 7.5 credits**
The course addresses energy, energy systems with emphasis on renewable energy, field industries, industry, and transport. The course also deals with sustainability conflicts linked to human needs. **Water Treatment Technology, 7.5 credits**
The course covers the following components: water in the environment – hydrology and water quality; physical, chemical, and biological processes affecting water quality; treatment technologies for drinking water and wastewater; stormwater management and stormwater systems; water sampling and analysis; and risk assessment of contaminated water from an environmental and public health perspective. **Systems Ecology – Nature and Society, 7.5 credits**
The course introduces the branch of systems ecology based on the energy pyramid (nutrient pyramid, trophic levels) where also the abiotic factors and human activities have been included. In the course is explained in systems terminology how the environment and society can be described as one system. **Environmental Accounting – Based on the Energy Hierarchy Principle, 7.5 credits**
The course introduces how environmental accounting can be performed based on the energy pyramid view (trophic levels). How to evaluate renewable and non-renewablere flows and stocks, and socio-ecological systems with appropriate indices. Performing a small application of environmental accounting is part of the course
Environmental Engineering BA (A), 15 credits, or Environmental Science BA (A), 15 credits.
