The course deals with geochemical processes in the environment and their role for society. We take up anthropogenic changes to soil, water, and sediment. Topics include drinking water, sewage treatment, mine waste, contaminated soil, coastal eutrophication, and atmospheric greenhouse gases. Environmental monitoring data are used for environmental health assessment and practical recommendations for remediation.
