The course presents proteins from a broad perspective. Protein structure and theory of enzyme catalysis are treated as well as protein transport, protein turnover, regulation of protein biogenesis and signal transduction mechanisms. The course also provides an introduction to bioinformatics.

Entry requirements

The course requires 60hp chemistry including 15hp biochemistry or equivalent.
