The course provides advanced knowledge of French linguistics / French language structure and discourse analysis. Certain areas of research in this field, such as tense and modality, direct and reported speech, polyphony and connectors, are highlighted. The course combines theory with practical analyses of authentic texts. The course also provides a support for writing an independent research essay with linguistics as its theme, and a firm base for further research studies in the subject.
Entry requirements
Knowledge equivalent to French - Bachelor’s Course (30 credits), or French III (30 credits) and French - Bachelor’s Course (15 credits), as well as knowledge equivalent to English B/English 6.
