Kursen behandlar arkeologiska frågor från äldsta tid till nutid i ett globalt perspektiv. Kursen syftar till att genom ett brett geografiskt perspektiv visa hur olika kontinenters historia är sammanflätade med varandra genom rörelser av människor, idéer och föremål. Kursen uppmärksammar historiska globaliseringsprocesser och hur dessa kommer till uttryck i det arkeologiska källmaterialet. Kursen uppmärksammar även hur eurocentriska perspektiv påverkat bilden av andra kontinenters historia.
