Kursen introducerar makroekonomiska problem och metoder. Den lär ut teorier för tillväxt, konjunkturcykler, räntor, inflation, sysselsättning, finans- och penningpolitik samt växelkurser. I en tillämpningsdel studeras stabiliseringspolitiska problem i en liten öppen ekonomi likt den svenska. Kursen ger även viss orientering om nationalekonomins utveckling.
