The course aims to provide an advanced and multidisciplinary insight into tropical ecology with a special emphasis on aquatic ecosystems, from lakes to coral reefs and the open ocean. The course focuses to a certain extent on the use of resources in these environments by humans, and thus the course contains aspects of such subjects as the economy of natural resources and ecotoxicology and conservation biology, alongside a systems ecology approach. Course period: January-March.

Entry requirements

Admittance to the course requires knowledge equivalent to a minimum of 120 credits, including Cell and Molecular Biology 15 credits, Diversity and Phylogeny of Organisms 15 credits, Physiology 15 credits and Ecology, Floristics and Faunistics 15 credits. Swedish upper secondary school course English B or equivalent.
