Kursen lär ut praktiska färdigheter i digital databehandling, kartframställning och analyser för geovetenskaplig forskning och industri. Kursen behandlar digital processering och presentation av geologiska, geografiska och geofysiska data; GIS, geodetiskt datum, spatiala databaser, terrängmodellering; moderna positioneringssystem och svenska referens- och positioneringssystem.

Entry requirements

Access to the course requires knowledge equivalent to Geological sciences 15 credits (GG2010), alternatively the courses Tellus I - Geology, 15 credits (GG2008), Tellus II - Geology, 12.5 credits (GG4039), Tellus III - Geology, 2.5 credits (GG4042), as well as courses corresponding to Mathematics for Natural Scientists 15 credits (MM2004) and Physics for Geoscientists 15 credits (FK3017).
