Kursen består av ett självständigt arbete under handledning. Centrala moment är planläggning, genomförande och rapportering av ett vetenskapligt arbete i matematisk statistik. Vidare tränas litteratursökning, författande av en skriftlig rapport samt övning i muntlig rapportering av forskningsresultat i form av ett slutseminarium.

Entry requirements

Admission to the course requires at least 135 credits, including the courses Mathematics, science and society, 7,5 credits (MM5015), and at least 52.5 credits of mathematical statistics including the courses Probability Theory II, 7,5 credits (MT5002), Linear Statistical Models, 7.5 credits (MT5016) and Theory of Statistical Inference, 7.5 credits (MT5017), or the equivalent.
