The course proceeds with numerical analysis and introduces important basic concepts and how to work numerically with differential equations. Discretisation is particularly important and is used in two methods that are presented: the finite difference method and the finite element method. After this course, you are prepared for an independent work where, for example, you model and simulate a physical phenomenon.
For course admission knowledge equivalent to Numerical analysis I, 7.5 credits (MM5016), Mathematics II - Analysis, part A, 7.5 credits (MM5010), and Programming Techniques for Mathematicians, 7.5 credits (DA2004) is required.
Each offering has its own dates and conditions. Closed offerings are retained as history and do not mean that a new application is open.
