The course addresses the development and morphology of the ocean basins; the archives: marine sediments, correlation and time scales; the basics of the modern climate system including ocean and atmosphere circulation, the hydrosphere, cryosphere and biogeogeochemical cycles; physical, chemical and biological proxy tools; and trends and events in the evolution of the ocean- and atmosphere systems over the past 150 million years.
For admission to the course, knowledge equivalent to 45 credits in geology or earth sciences, including the course Marin and geophysical mapping methods, 7.5 credits (GG4121).
