The course focus on the application of geochemistry, isotope geology, thermodynamics and numerical modeling to the study of igneous and metamorphic petrogenesis. The course has an open start and you can read the course at your own pace. Re-exams may be held on campus.
Access to the course requires knowledge equivalent to 60 credits in geology or earth sciences, where the courses Tellus I - Geology 15 credits (GG2008), Tellus I - Natural Geography 15 credits (GE2020) and Tellus II 22.5 credits (GG4033) alternatively Geology 30 credits ( GG2006) is included as well as mineralogy 7.5 credits (GG4140/ GG4141), magmatic petrology 7.5 credits (GG4142) and metamorphic petrology 7.5 credits (GG4143) alternatively 15 credits mineralogy and petrology (GG4019).
