Kursen ger en introduktion till geometrin av metriska grafer och deras spektrala egenskaper. Specifikt innehåll: Metrisk graf som singulär mångfald, differentialoperatorer på grafer, karakteristiska ekvationen och spektrum, kirurgi av grafer, Laplace-operatorn på metriska grafer, spårformeln, topologi och spektrum, reducerbarhet av sekulära polynom, diofantisk analys och spektrumets aritmetiska struktur, nästan periodiska funktioner och Ambarstumians satser, introduktion till inversa problem, stabila polynom och kristallina mått.

Entry requirements

For admission to the course, knowledge is required equivalent to Mathematics II - Algebra and Combinatorics, 7.5 credits (MM5013) and Mathematics III - Foundations of Analysis, 7.5 credits (MM5021). Also required is knowledge equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
