The course deals with journalism's representations and framing of reality based on ideology-critical, hermeneutic and constructionist perspectives, and special emphasis is placed on the importance of different forms of publication for the expression of media content, as well as how meaning production works in multimedia contexts. A change perspective is used to highlight challenges of journalism's power to portray the outside world in a digitized, participatory media culture.
