Kursen behandlar grundläggande statistiska principer och teori från en såväl frekventistisk som Bayesiansk synvinkel. Som en del härav studeras bland annat likelihoodteori, tillräcklighet, information, asymptotik och bootstrap tillämpat på metoder för punktskattning, intervallskattning och hypotestest. Implementering av härledda metoder i statistisk programvara utgör ett viktigt moment i kursen.
Entry requirements
For admission to the course, knowledge equivalent to Mathematics II - Analysis, part A, 7.5 credits (MM5010), Mathematics II - Linear Algebra, 7.5 credits (MM5012), and Statistical Analysis, 7.5 credits (MT4001) is required.
