Kursen behandlar arkitektur, stadsplanering och gestaltad livsmiljö i norra Sverige ur ett konstvetenskapligt perspektiv. Kursen fokuserar på arkitektoniska utformningar och ideal med utgångspunkt i samtida och historiska samhällsomvandlingar.   Följande moduler ingår:     **Modul 1: Definitioner, begrepp och historia** (3 hp)   *Definitions, concepts and history* Modulen ger en introduktion till definitioner av samtida arkitektur och en bakgrund till hur historiska samhällsomvandlingar och stilideal påverkat arkitektur i norr fram till idag.    **Modul 2: Fallstudier inom samtida arkitektur** (4,5 hp)    *Case studies in contemporary architecture*  Under modulen diskuteras vad pågående samhällsomvandlingar, stilideal och fokus på gestaltad livsmiljö har för effekter på samtida arkitektur i delar av Norrbotten och Västerbotten.
