The course focuses on processes, synthesis and characterization techniques of materials at the nanoscale. Nanotechnology is a quickly developing field and the course has a strong focus on understanding and highlighting cutting edge research in the field of nanotechnology. The course describes how physical processes and theories can be used to describe materials at the nanoscale, including new devices for electronic and energy applications. It also includes synthesis and characterization of such materials, with a main focus on carbon nanomaterials, such as fullerenes, carbon nanotubes and graphene but also on various types of metal and semiconductor nanoparticles.
90 credits including Solid State Physics, or equivalent. Proficiency in English and Swedish equivalent to the level required for basic eligibility for higher studies. Requirements for Swedish only apply if the course is held in Swedish.
Each offering has its own dates and conditions. Closed offerings are retained as history and do not mean that a new application is open.
