Kursen ger en introduktion till sociologiska förståelseformer, teorier och metoder. Kursen ger också kunskap om hur sociologin och socialpsykologin som vetenskap har uppkommit och vidareutvecklats kring bestämda problem och teoretiska perspektiv. Speciellt intresse riktas mot sambandet mellan sociologisk idéutveckling och samhällsförändring.
