The course treats vision as information processing with a focus on computational challenges in artificial and biological visual systems. Particularly emphasis it put on the underspecified nature of several visual problems are treated as well as how artificial and biological systems attempt to solve those problems. The course treats basic image capturing methods, perceptual organization, depth and categorization. Furthermore, the course deals with visual perceptual learning, attention and gaze control.

Entry requirements

60 hp in the subject area of cognitive science or equivalent. These 60 hp should include the following courses: Logic and Formal Methods, 7.5 hp, Applied Cognitive Psychology, 7.5 hp, Programming in Python, 7.5 hp and Data Structures and Algorithms (Python), 7.5 hp, or equivalent. Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper Secondary course English 6/level 2. Where the language of instruction is Swedish, applicants must prove proficiency in Swedish to the level required for basic eligibility for higher studies.
