Kursen fokuserar på vårdvetenskapliga teorier och begrepp såsom hälsa, lidande och vårdande samt den vårdande relationens betydelse för stärka patienters hälsoprocesser. Patientperspektivet är centralt och definieras samt problematiseras ur ett livsvärldsperspektiv. Patientperspektivets relation till personcentrerad vård analyseras. Vårdandets etik och den vårdande relationen belyses som centrala fenomen i vårdande sammanhang.
