I kursen introduceras litterära genrer, didaktiska perspektiv och kanonkritik. Nyare och äldre litterära verk och genrer studeras. Litterära verk och deras historiska, politiska och sociala sammanhang introduceras med fokus på bland annat mångkulturella och identitetsskapande perspektiv.
