Technical and scientific advances are often based on a large measure of creative problem solving, and therefore creative problem solving is central to many companies as well as to society at large. Creative problem solving can also be very developmental for the individual, as the problem-solving process gives you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in a free and playful context. In addition, creative problem solving is fun. This course is aimed at anyone who wants to develop their creative problem-solving skills. You will, in groups and on your own, work on various tricky problems. The problems can be, for example, mathematical, logical, physical or related to engineering, but no advanced prior knowledge will be required. During the course, different problem-solving strategies will be discussed, and you will also be able to construct your own problems that your classmates will try to solve. In order to pass the course, active participation in the lessons is required and you must present your work on a number of the problems.
