Kursen behandlar innovationernas ekonomiska geografi. Kursen fokuserar pÄ teorier om teknisk förÀndring, innovation och kunskapsskapande och hur begrepp inom dessa teorier tillÀmpas pÄ olika geografiska nivÄer, inklusive företagsnivÄ, regional nivÄ, nationell nivÄ och supranationell (EU) nivÄ. Inom kursen behandlas olika faktorers roll, sÄsom nÀrhet, kunskapsspridning och institutionell kontext, för formandet av innovationsmönster. Kursen tar ocksÄ upp europeisk innovationspolitik och dess pÄverkan pÄ innovationsaktiviteter inom olika regioner i Europa. Kursen ges pÄ engelska.
