This course offers an advanced examination of global economic history from the 1980s to the present. It focuses on four transformative processes that have shaped economic development: digitalization, globalization, financialization, and the evolving role of the state. The course analyzes structural changes in production, trade, and consumption patterns, situating these developments within dominant economic paradigms and public discourse. Particular attention is given to the interplay between these transformations and the social and environmental sustainability challenges that have emerged over the past four decades.
