<p>The course focuses on the encounter between literature and Continental philosophy, discussing questions that play a major part in the contemporary aesthetics of literature. We will consider how philosophical questions of truth, knowledge and language are posed by and may inform our understanding of literary works. The course will develop appropriate strategies and interpretative models for reading representative texts in poetry, prose fiction and drama of British, Irish and American literature.</p>

Bachelor of Arts Degree or equivalent.
