<p>This course builds on the knowledge and skills that have been acquired in the equivalent module in the Introductory course. The course offers a specialization in syntax from a contrastive perspective and in the structure of the German language with regard to regional, medial and social variation as well as the historical development of the language. You will study representative texts from different regions, social groups and periods both from a phonological, morphological, lexical, syntactic, pragmatic and a cultural-historical perspective. The course contains oral and written exercises that strengthen the theoretical knowledge of linguistic variation and language development.<br />  </p>
