<p>The course Music, multiculturalism and the politics of tradition deals with folk and world music. The course focuses ethnomusicology as a research discipline, how the field has developed and what questions are asked. You also get to study how traditional forms of music have changed through globalization and new mass media, as well as discuss how we think about folk music today. Ideas about the connection between music, nationality and origin are discussed and problematized. The course content also emphasizes music examples -Â listening and reflecting based on the concepts of the course literature.</p>
