This course has a focus on historical and lexical perspectives on language. Important topics are the relationship between Somali and other languages, variation within Somali, language policy and standardisation, word formation and terminology, important dictionaries, as well as electronic corpora. The course has scheduled online classes.

General entrance requirements for university studies. Exemption is given from English when the language of instruction is Swedish. Exemption is given from Swedish when the language of instruction is English.
