Syftet är att beskriva vår nuvarande kunskap om stjärnorna och vår galax Vintergatan, med tonvikt på att ge en grundläggande fysikalisk förståelse av stjärnor och andra astronomiska objekt och fenomen i Vintergatan. Kursen behandlar olika typer av stjärnor, stjärnornas struktur och utveckling, solen som stjärna, samt Vintergatans uppbyggnad och innehåll. Kursen ger också en inblick i hur teleskop och observationer används för att undersöka stjärnorna och Vintergatan.

General entrance requirements for university studies and the Swedish upper secondary courses Physics 2, Mathematics 3c or Mathematics D or Physics level 2, Mathematics Further level 1c
