In this course, the student, with support from their supervisor, identifies a theoretical philosophical problem that they then treat in paper form. The paper should be systematically organized: problem oriented and argument driven. Its arguments should be clearly based in contemporary literature. The paper should demonstrate the student’s ability to contribute independently to the relevant discussion. The finished paper is defended at a seminar of peers. The student is also expected to oppose one of their fellow students’ papers, either orally or in writing.

Entry requirements

För tillträde till kursen krävs: - minst 90 hp i filosofi med analytisk inriktning, inklusive ett examensarbete på minst 15 hp i teoretisk filosofi, eller - en kandidatexamen om 180 hp varav minst 90 hp ska bestå av filosofi med analytisk inriktning, eller motsvarande. - Godkänt resultat om minst 15 hp från FTW200, FTW210, FTW220 eller FTW230, eller motsvarande, samt - godkänt resultat om minst 7,5 hp i FTW310, FTW320, FTW330, FTW340, eller motsvarande. Dessutom krävs Engelska 6/Engelska B eller motsvarande nivå från ett internationellt erkänt test som till exempel TOEFL eller IELTS.
