The course covers textual structure, style, clarity, correct language use, referencing conventions and anti-plagiarism, among other things. The examinations are comprised of a number of assignments which are carried out throughout the course. These assignments consist of both oral seminar assignments and written assignments which lead to a final assignment where the student is to complete an academic essay. The focus on progression in the course means that it is important to take the teacher’s individual feedback into account as well as the comments of the other course participants.&nbsp;</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-indent: 0cm; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;"><br></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-indent: 0cm; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;">Please note that this is a distance course. If you wish to study academic writing on campus, there is English: Academic Writing G1N, 7.5 credits, with the course code EN244G.</p>

Entry requirements

General entry requirements (with exception of the requirement of Swedish). Further requirements: English 6 (or the equivalent). The level of English proficiency is normally shown by an internationally recognized language test, e.g. IELTS or TOEFL.
